So you know when you run certain apps on your iPhone that work great over WiFi but then don't work that well or at all over 3G?
Let's take the currently most popular example, FaceTime (only on iPhone4). Apple have restricted FaceTime to only work over WiFi, so when you're on 3G, the little FaceTime button is greyed out next to your contact's name. In other words, you just can't use it over your network data plan. But wait! There is a way around this, Kim Streich's 3G Unrestrictor fools your applications into thinking they are on WiFi even though they are on 3G or EDGE.
FaceTime over 3G however, although possible with this app, is a little hit and miss as losing your connection is highly possible over the network. A better example is Apple's app store - ever wanted to download an app that's over 10MB? You'll get a pop-up message saying that you'll need to download over a WiFi connection. Install 3G Unrestrictor and away you go - sure it may take a while to download 10MB depending on your network but hey, at least you can now do it!
3G Unrestrictor also detects when an application may be checking if you're on 3G and can ask whether you want to unrestrict them, if you choose to enable this option.
The user interface is simple, clean and very easy to use. All that's needed is an updated retina display icon for iPhone 4 owners.
