iPhone Apps - AptBackup

Unlike App store apps which automatically re-sync when restoring in iTunes, jailbreak apps do not, so when upgrading to the latest firmware and then re-jailbreaking, you'll need to manually re-install your packages.

If you've installed a lot of Cydia applications on your newly jailbroken iPhone then this can be quite a painful and tedious process, particularly if you can't quite remember the names of all your original jailbreak apps.

AptBackup is a little tool that backs up a list of your installed Cydia apps and when you restore your iPhone in iTunes, will reinstall all the packages in one step. AptBackup does not back up the actual physical apps but keeps a list of them which is stored with other settings files and backed up in iTunes.

The important thing to remember is to sync your iPhone in iTunes after each time you tap 'Backup' in the application. Once your iPhone is restored in iTunes, all you need to do is install AptBackup from Cydia, launch the app and tap on the 'Restore' button and voila - watch all your previously installed packages reinstall!

There isn't really much to the UI - simple and to the point with just two necessary buttons.

Note though, that this application will only make a list of packages that have been installed using Cydia (as opposed to other app directories such as the Rock app).
