Cydia 1.1 For Jailbroken iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch Goes Live – How to Update to New Cydia


We have some good news for the entire iPhone jailbreak community - if you are rocking a jailbroken iOS device then you will be glad to know that Saurik (or known as Jay Freeman and the creator of Cydia) finally released the highly anticipated Cydia version 1.1 for jailbroken iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
If you are unaware, Cydia is the alternative App store jailbroken iOS devices where you can get unapproved tweaks, jailbreak apps, and programs for your jailbroken iOS. In simple words, you have to jailbreak your iOS device in order to access Cydia, and most apps available in Cydia cannot be found in official iTunes App Store.

Saurik has managed to enhanced and add more features to his Cydia. The Cydia 1.1 comes with necessary speed improvement, resume and multiple language support. Additionally, it is significantly faster and more stable, Saurik also incorporated an improved search algorithm and “resume where you left off” features.

Other features ad improvements of Cydia 1.1 include:

• The ability to run and operate Activator, libstatusbar, and SimulatedKeyEvents while Cydia is running
• an overall speed improvement, including the “Loading Changes” dialog
• “much less” memory usage
• A more advanced search mechanism with a new relevancy algorithm
• Better management of broken repositories

Step 1: Just simply launch Cydia from the Springboard of your jailbroken iOS device
Step 2: Then refresh your packages (done automatically)
Step 3: You will be prompted to upgrade “Essential packages” or “Complete Upgrade”. Select “Complete Upgrade”.
Step 4: Cydia will be updated to version 1.1 and then will require you to restart Cydia.
