Greenpois0n RC7 To Untethered Jailbreak iPad 2 On iOS 4.3.1?

Popular iPhone hacker Posixninja (or Joshua Hill) of the Chronic Dev Team – the Dev Team who held accountable for Greenpois0n jailbreak tool and SHAtter exploit - has just announced that the iPad 2 jailbreak solution is in the works. Posixninja has just confirmed via tweet that they working on the iPad 2 jailbreak on iOS 4.3 and may be 4.3.2. It is very much likely that the Chronic Dev team will update their Greenpois0n to version RC7 with iPad 2 jailbreak package.

Here’s what p0sixninja tweeted:

“Since 4.3.1 is already exploited by the legendary @i0n1c, we’re working on finishing iPad2 jailbreak now.”

The iPhone Dev team together with Stefan Esser (also known as i0nic) already released the untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad1 and iPod Touch3G and 4G. If you unaware, Esser has just jumped to the iPhone jailbreaking scene for the very first time and he quickly discovered a new vulnerability, developed an exploit and he handed it to the iPhone Dev Team. After that, the Dev Team released it in the form of Redsn0w 0.9.6 RC9 and PwnageTool 4.3. iH8sn0w also utilizes Esser’s untethered jailbreak in his Sn0wbreeze 2.5 for Windows users.

In case you don’t know, the Cupertino, California-based Apple already patched up some iPad 2 jailbreak exploit in iOS 4.3 and iOS 4.3.1 found by the Chronic Dev Team, GeoHot’s Limera1n exploit, and lastly, Comex iPad 2 kernel exploit. Until now, it is quite unsure if Comex will still release his JailbreakMe 3.0 to jailbreak iPad 2.

There’s no word from the Chronic Dev Team regarding the release date of the new iPad 2 jailbreak. But it is expected to be released very soon. If you are an iPad 2 user and want to jailbreak, then keep your eyes peeled and your fingers crossed.
