After months of waiting, the Sn0wbreeze hacker / developer known as iH8snow, has released the Sn0wbreeze version 2.2 for Windows. Sn0wbreeze 2.2 supports iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 2G, and iPad.Sn0wbreeze is considered as the unofficial PwnageTool for Windows, which allows iPhone users who want to jailbreak and also carrier unlock to update their iPhone with a pre-jailbroken iOS 4.2.1 firmware while preserving the unlockable baseband from getting upgraded so that it can be unlocked using the latest version of Ultrasn0w.

For those who don’t know, just like the PwnageTool, Sn0wbreeze 2.2 allows users to create custom and pre-jailbroken iOS 4.2.1ipsw file, which you can used to upgrade your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad to iOS 4.2.1. Meaning, iPhone users will not lose their ability to unlock as it preserves the baseband from getting upgraded with the help of “Baseband Preservation Mode”.
What’s new in Sn0wbreeze 2.2 for Windows?
• New “Baseband Preservation Mode”. This new mode enables current iPhone 4, 3GS and 3G users to preserve their baseband while upgrading to iOS 4.2.1 so that they can unlock using existing version of Ultrasn0w.
