iPhone 4, 3Gs & 3G Jailbreak With JailbreakMe

To jailbreak an iPhone means to unlock the operating system of the device so that the user can install and use third party applications. Apple have strict operating systems installed on their devices that only allow the use of Apple approved applications and this has lead to a number of developers creating jailbreaking applications to give users back the freedom to use their devices anyway they choose. When you jailbreak your phone you can install and use third party applications without any restrictions.

When it comes to jailbreaking the iPhone you can now use a great application called JailbreakMe. You can even use this to jailbreak the iOS 4.0.1 on the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G. The JailbreakMe 2.0 version works very similar to the Spirit jailbreak and it is very easy to use. All you have to do is open the Safari browser on your iOS device and follow the simple steps in this tutorial.

JailbreakMe 2.0 is the latest version and it is the easiest of all the jailbreaking programs to use. This tutorial will show you how to use the JailbreakMe to jailbreak your iPhone. All you have to do is follow the steps below.

Step 1:
The first thing that you have to do to jailbreak your phone is to download iTunes if you haven’t already and make sure that you back up all the data on your phone. This is in case anything goes from. If you haven’t already updated your iPhone to iOS 4.0.1 then you should do this now via iTunes.

Step 2:
Open up your Safari browser and go to
http://jailbreakme.com or
http://www.jailbreakme.com

Step 3:
Slide to jailbreak to begin the jailbreak. JailbreakMe will be downloaded to your iPhone and it will then start to work its magic.

Step 4:
You need to wait until JailbreakMe 2.0 downloads all the files that it will need to jailbreak your phone.

Step 5:
Once the JailbreakMe application has finished downloading it will automatically jailbreak your iPhone for you. All you have to do is wait for this process to complete. That is perhaps the hardest part of all of this.

When it is finished you will get a message saying that Cydia has been added to the home screen of your iPhone. You are now running a jailbroken iPhone. The JailbreakMe 2.0 version will work on all iOS devices on the new bootrom and this inlcudes the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and the iPhone 3G running on the iOS 4 and 4.0.1. This jailbreaking application will not work on iPhones running the iOS 4.1 beta version.

As you can see, using JailbreakMe 2.0 to jailbreak your iPhone really is very simple. I’m sure as the iOS upgrades so too with this excellent jailbreaking application. You do need to remember that this application will not work if you are using the iOS 4.1 beta version that is available so make sure that you don’t upgrade via iTunes after you have jailbroken your phone. If you do your phone will be locked again and you will have to wait for a new version of the JailbreakMe to be released before you can unlock it again.
