Patch Fixes Jailbroken iPhones’ PDF Vulnerability

A PDF fix that patches the security hole in jailbroken iPhones has been released. Jay Freeman, the creator of Cydia, has recently developed the PDF fix.

The PDF patch now ensures that iPhone users can enjoy their jailbroken phones without worrying about possible malicious attacks.

It would be recalled that JailbreakMe, a web-based jailbreaking tool, has roused a growing concern over iOS security because of its attack on a security hole in iOS allowing a website to write data on your iPhone. The jailbreaking tool is then downloaded into the iOS device through a PDF file.

It is this remote access that raised concerns as it can allow anyone to gain access to your iPhones making it vulnerable to hackers who can remotely plant malware without you knowing it.

If you have already jailbroken your iPhone, you can install the PDF patch now to secure your devices from any malware.

First, you need to launch Cydia, got to “Search” and search for “PDF Patch”. Tap the "PDF Patch" from the search result, and tap "Install" to install the patch.

Did it work for your iPhone? If it did, that means your jailbroken iPhone has already been patched.
