TetherMe for iPhones

Tethering has made broadband access so much fun and easy! TetherMe has been tested to work on all iOS versions from 3.0 to 4.0.1 and should work on any carrier without the need for customized bundles or preferences.

Tethering is the use of a mobile device like the iPhone to provide Internet access for another device like a laptop computer. By using TetherMe, it tells your iPhone to allow tethering on any APN that is used for iPhone data.

The tethering data then appears to come from the phone itself so you should not be charged extra fees by your phone carrier. It also bypasses signature checking so you could easily edit your carrier plan manually if you want to. Note that TetherMe may be used for non-jailbroken iPhones.

There is only one tethering procedure for all iDevices. After activating or installing the tethering service, you would need to reboot your iPhone and follow these steps:

1) Go to your iPhone’s “Settings” > tap on the “General” link > tap on “Network”.

2) Near the bottom of that screen is a link that says “Set Up Internet Tethering”. Tap on that link.

3) Move the slider to turn tethering on.

4) Select your connection options: via USB or Bluetooth.

5) Go to the Networks pane of Settings on your laptop and select the iPhone from the list of networks.

Did it work? You should now have access to the net just like you were connected from a WiFi location.
