Revamped Seas0nPass Released, Untethered Jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 on AppleTV 2G Now Available

Firecore, the dev team reasonable behind the Seas0nPass jailbreak tool for the second-generation AppleTV, released an updated version of Seas0nPass for Mac OS X that incorporates a permanent untethered jailbreak for the AppleTV 2G that runs on iOS 4.1.1 ( or iOS 4.2.1). The Firecore dev team utilizes the Chronic Dev Team’s Greenpois0n kernel based exploit to chive a permanent untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak. Meaning, you don’t need to have a MicroUSB to tethered boot your AppleTV 2G.

AppleTV users who happened to have Windows PC, you have to wait for the Windows version of Seas0nPass as the dev team is still developing and ironing out some bugs and glitches and the final version will be release very soon. Moreover, the latest beta version of aTV Flash(black) – beta 3 – is compatible with the Seas0nPass, Greenpois0n, and PwnageTool jailbreak solutions. FireCore also adds:

“If you’ve already jailbroken with GreenPois0n (RC 6.1) you do not need to re-jailbreak – both Seas0nPass and GreenPois0n contain the same jailbreak components.”

Seas0nPass jailbreak tool serves as the Sn0wbreeze (for Windows) and PwnageTool (for Mac OS X) for your AppleTV 2G. It allows you to cook custom AppleTV IPSW (iOS 4.2.1) files and restore them through your iTunes. Anyway, you can download Seas0nPass Untethered Jailbreak from this link.
