More Information About Limera1n
Limera1n is currently in beta release and this means that it is now fully stable and there may be some bugs to be ironed out. If you are feeling adventurous and you don’t have time to wait around for the final version of this tool to be released you can go ahead and download and use the Limera1n tool. Before you rush ahead and do this here is some things that you need to know about the Limera1n tool.
• Limera1n is a jailbreak tool only and it won’t unlock your phone. If you currently rely on ultrasn0w to unlock your iPhone then you are advised not to upgrade to iOS 4.1 just yet. The iPhone Dev Team is working on an upgrade for the PwnageTool jailbreak that will allow you to upgrade to iOS 4.1 without changing your baseband.
• Limera1n only works on the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3G and iPod Touch 4G running the iOS 4.1. It will also work on the iPad that is running the iOS 3.2.2. If you have an iPhone 3G you will need to use the Redsn0w jailbreak tool.
• Limera1n is an untethered jailbreak tool.
• Limera1n is only avialable for Windows users at the moment and GeoHot are working on a Mac and Linux version which will be released at a later date.
• Limera1n does not support the beta version of iOS so if you are running this on your iDevice this jailbreak tool won’t work.
• There is one known bug that has been identified. If Cydia does not appear on your iDevice after running Limera1n you need to reboot your device.
On another note I want to say that with the launch of Limerea1n it means that Greenpois0n will no longer be released. According to the iPhone Dev Team the launch of Limera1n has averted the burning of 2 bootrom holes at one and that releasing SHAtter at this time would be a complete waste and they will now wait until Apple closes Limera1n’s hole.
