Frash: An App That Will Run Adobe Flash

An app that can run Flash programs that are native to Mobile Safari is now available for iPhones. Thanks to the ever workaholic Comex for coming up with this new application.

Comex, the iPhone developer behind Spirit and JailbreakMe, has recently introduced Frash which is an abbreviation for Adobe Flash. Comex has made Frash compatible to Apple’s iOS in order to run programs with Flash-based contents on your iPhones.

Installing Frash

Frash is still undergoing tests, and reported to work on jailbroken iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4. If you want to test it right away, you may now install and launch it via Cydia and follow these procedures:

1. Tap “Manage”, go to “Sources” then tap “Edit” followed by “Add” (to add a new repository source).

2. Enter “http://repo.benm.at” for the cydia/APT URL and tap “Add Source”.

3. Tap “Done” and go to “Search” to search for “Frash”.

4. Tap “Frash” and install it.

5. After installing it, you would need to reboot your iPhone in order to run flash in mobile Safari.

Use of Frash in Mobile Safari

In order for you to test if your Frash is working, you just need to go to any website with flash content. Frash is able to automatically any Flash content in websites. After that, simply tap on the “Flash” label to play the flash.

Since Frash is still being refined, you may encounter problems of it not working with all types of flash content. There’s also a possibility that it will crash the mobile Safari. If that happens, simply uninstall it using Cydia, then reboot the iPhone to completely remove Frash.
